1860s Samuel Ramsden established Australian Paper Manufacturers in Victoria, Australia, Victoria's first paper mill, on the banks of the Yarra River, Melbourne.
1970s and 1980s Amcor added a range of diverse packaging interests to its traditional papermaking activities; business partnerships and strategic acquisitions expanded and diversified the company's activities.
1990s The Company changed its name from APM to Amcor Limited to reflect the Company's much broader range of interests than traditional pulp and papermaking activities. 
2000s The paper business was demerged from the packaging businesses and began a decade of significant acquisition and growth, culminating in Amcor acquiring parts of Alcan from Rio Tinto in 2010.
2019 Amcor acquired Bemis Company in an all stock combination. Combining these two complementary companies created the global leader in consumer packaging.
2020 Butterball and Amcor connect snacking consumers with the new turkey option; Amcor launches the first recyclable shrink bag for meat and cheese.
2021 Established two innovation centers in Europe and Asia. Amcor has joined forces with Michigan State University's (MSU) School of Packaging to create a new partnership.
2022 Launched launched a new platform of paper-based packaging products called AmFiber and also launched more sustainable packaging for pharmaceuticals. Amcor, Licella partner to deliver recycled content from one of Australia's first advanced recycling facilities
2023 Acquired  Phoenix Flexibles, a scalable, flexible packaging plant in the high-growth Indian market, and Amcor signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SK Geo Centric (SK), a leading petrochemical company based in South Korea, to source advanced recycled material primarily in Asia Pacific region beginning in 2025.
2024 Amcor and AVON launch the AmPrima Plus refill pouch in China. Amcor collaborates with Stonyfield Organic and Cheer Pack North America to launch the first all-PE spouted pouch.
