2004 Ant Financial Services Group, also known as Ant Group, was founded in 2004 as part of the Alibaba Group under Alipay.  Over time, Alipay evolved into Ant Group, formally established as a separate entity in 2014, and has since expanded into a wide range of financial services.
2014 Ant Financial Services Group (now known as Ant Group Co., Ltd) was formally established as a separate entity from Alibaba Group. It was created to consolidate and expand the financial services ecosystem that started with Alipay.
2015 Ant Financial and Paytm formed a strategic partnership. Subsequently, Paytm launched its local e-wallet in India.
2016 The company partnered with Ascend Money, Thailand's prominent payment company, to create the TrueMoney e-wallet.
2017 The company partnered with Kakao Corp, a Korean internet company, and started to develop Kakao Pay for Korean users.
2017 The company partnered with Touch'n Go, a subsidiary of CIMB, a leading bank based in Malaysia, to develop a local e-wallet jointly.
2018 The company partnered with bKash, a mobile financial service provider in Bangladesh, to enhance its e-wallet and economic service for local users.
