1935 Avery Adhesives was established in Los Angeles.
1940-1949  
1948 Avery developed a 17,000 sq. ft. First-owned factory in Monrovia, California.
1950-1959  
1953-1954 Avery developed a plant for Painesville, Ohio's new base materials division.
1958 The company name changed to Avery Adhesive Products.
1960-1989  
1964 Avery Adhesive Products was renamed to Avery Products Corp.
1969 The company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
1976 Avery developed an entirely solvent-free plant in Peachtree City, Georgia.
1990-1999 Avery Dennison was formed owing to the strategic merger of Avery International and Dennison Manufacturing.
2000–2019  
2007 Avery Dennison acquires Paxar.
2016 Avery Dennison acquired the European business of Mactac.
2017 Avery Dennison acquired Finesse Medical, Hanita Coatings, and Yongle Tape Company Ltd.
2020 Avery Dennison acquired the RFID transponder business of Smartrac.
