1839 It all began in 1839, when Julius Wilhelm Braun bought the Rose Pharmacy in Melsungen.
1930 Sterofundin was one of the first infusion solutions to be produced industrially.
1935 The non-absorbable synthetic suture material Synthofil A was launched successfully. 
1950 B. Braun invested in the latest technology and started as a supplier for extracorporeal blood treatment. 
1950 The development of single-use  infusion equipment made of plastic. 
1960 The company began to manufacture its own dialysis machines in cooperation with FRABA.
1962 B. Braun brought Lipofundin on the market, the first infusible lipid emulsion developed in Germany. 
1966 Establishment of the B. Braun Foundation for promoting basic and advanced training of doctors and nursing staff.
1967 Launched first pneumatic motor.
1971 Launched The Infusomat, the first volumetric infusion pump.
1989 In cooperation with the University of Kassel, the company sets up the Otto Braun Fund to grant doctoral scholarships.
1991 B. Braun has opended its first dialysis center in Budapest, Hungary.
2008 B. Braun Avitum has had global success as a full-service supplier for extracorporeal blood treatment.
2012 Introduced Introcan Safety 3, featuring an integrated, self-sealing valve that prevents blood leakage and protects against infection.
