1970 - 1980 Founded Smith Associates to undertake research and development projects in the U.K. defense industry.
1980 - 1990 Moved to the Research Park in Guildford and began diversifying into non-defense areas of the public sector.
1990 - 2000 Expanded further into the public sector and ventured into international markets. In 1995, Tom Black became Managing Director and shifted the company's focus towards IT consultancy, particularly in CRM for commercial markets.
2003 - 2005 Acquisition of Rubus Limited, followed by the acquisition of CRM specialist consultancy Extraprise and Evolutions Consulting Group.
2005 - 2007 Acquisition of M.A. International.
2009 Joint Venture with Vodafone.
2012 Acquired Stratsec, the largest cyber security consultancy.
2013 Added new products to the portfolio including CyberReveal, MobileProtect, and IndustrialProtect.
2014 Opened a Global Delivery Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and rebranded as the Applied Intelligence business of BAE Systems.
2018 Launched The Intelligence Network, a global community of cyber and financial crime professionals.
2020 Launched SOC.OS as a new business, a SaaS-based security alert investigation and triage tool.
2021 Acquisition of In-Space Missions, a U.K. company specializing in satellite design, building, and operation.
2023 Acquisition of Eurostep, a secure data sharing company headquartered in Sweden.
