1902 Belden Manufacturing Co. was incorporated, with Joe Belden as president and Albert Beutler as plant superintendent.
1910 The company introduced its enamel insulation, which was marketed under the trade name of Beldenamel. It became an industry standard and opened the way for wire refinements such as fine and ultra-fine magnet wires.
1980s Belden became the first in the industry to market Ethernet and fiber optic cables for industrial applications.
1995 Belden acquired American Electric Cordsets, adding a $24 million company to its newly formed Cord Products Division.
2009 Belden acquired Telecast Fiber Systems, a manufacturer of fiber-optic systems for television broadcast production, for an undisclosed price.
2012 Belden acquired Miranda Technologies, a global provider of hardware and software solutions for the broadcast television, cable, satellite, and IPTV industries, for $377 million.
2021 Belden acquired OTN Systems, a Belgium-based manufacturer of critical telecommunication equipment, for $71 million.
