1912-1916 Standard Oil Co. doubled its oceangoing capacity by adding five tankers into the fleet.
1945 The company acquire the Perth Amboy Refinery in New Jersey.
1988 Chevron Corp. acquired $2.5 billion of properties from Tenneco and became one of the leading oil and gas producer in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
2001 The shareholders of Texaco and Chevron voted to approve the merger between them to form ChevronTexaco Corp. and start doing business on that same day.
2005 The company changed its name to Chevron Corp.
  The company acquired Unocal Corp., thereby enhancing its position as one of the leading energy providers globally.
2019 Chevron Australia has completed the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Injection Project which includes designing, constructing, and operating facilities to inject CO2 into a deep reservoir more than two kilometers beneath Barrow Island.
2020 The company acquired Noble Energy.
2021 The company made an agreement with Caterpillar to develop hydrogen demonstration projects in transportation and stationary power applications.
