1875 Isaac Elder Blake founded the company Continental Oil and Transportation.
1883 The company has its First Pipeline in California, and New products are introduced in the market called benzene to clean stoves, ready-mixed paints, hoof oil for horses, and even a popular medicinal ointment.
1885 Standard Oil takes control of Continental Oil and Transportation Co.
1909 Continental Oil builds the West’s first filling station.
1913 The U.S. Supreme Court orders Standard Oil to relinquish control of Continental Oil and Transportation Co. in an attempt to prevent a monopoly.
1917 Brothers Frank and L.E. Phillips established Phillips Petroleum Company, headquartered in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, U.S.
1920 Phillips developed and marketed propane for home heating and cooking - Philgas.
1926 Phillips formed its Aviation department and designed the first aviation refueling trucks.
1927 Phillips enters the refining business by acquiring its first refinery near Borger, Texas.
1929 Marland Oil merges with Continental Oil and Transportation Co., forming a new company known as the Continental Oil Company (Conoco).
1930 Phillips Acquired Independent Oil and Gas Co.
1948 Phillips formed a new subsidiary, Phillips Chemical Company, and became one of the first oil companies to install electrostatic precipitators at refineries to reduce air emissions.
1951 Phillips invents polyethylene plastics and discovers and develops a new process to produce high-density polyethylene resins, launching Phillips’ entry into the plastics business.
1969 Phillips pioneers the first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Alaska to Japan.
1970 Conoco expands internationally, making engineering acquisitions throughout Europe by creating a network of service stations in West Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the United Kingdom, each marketing different Conoco gasoline brands.
1981 DuPont acquired Conoco.
1998 Conoco officially separated from the company DuPont.
2000 Phillips and Chevron combine their chemicals and plastics operations, creating Chevron Phillips Chemical Company.
2002 Conoco and Phillips officially merged and formed a new company called ConocoPhillips.
2006 Acquired Wilhelmshaven refinery in Germany and U.K.-based Louis Dreyfus Refining and Marketing Limited. 
2007 ConocoPhillips and Tyson Foods announce strategic alliance to produce next generation renewable diesel fuel created from beef, pork and poultry byproduct fat.
2009 ConocoPhillips and Origin Energy created a long-term joint venture Australasian natural gas business focused on coal bed methane and liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing and sales. 
2011 Formed a joint venture with General Electric and NRG Energy, ConocoPhillips creates Energy Technology Ventures to focus on the development of next-generation energy technologies for renewable power generation, smart grids, energy efficiency, oil, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy, emission controls, water and biofuels.
2012 The Gumusut well in offshore Malaysia begins producing oil.
2014 It has achieved the first oil production from the Gumusut-Kakap Floating Production Facility in Malaysia.
2018 Acquired additional acreage and transportation interests in the Greater Kuparuk Area in Alaska and Acquired Anadarko’s non-operated interests in Alaska Western North Slope and Alpine pipeline for $400 million.
2021 ConocoPhillips Acquires Concho Resources and expands the company’s presence in the Permian.
