1843 Roessler laid the foundation of Evonik Industries AG.
1847 Theodor Goldschmidt established the Chemische Fabrik Th. Goldschmidt in Berlin.
1860 Friedrich Ernst Roessler developed a chemical laboratory near to Frankfurt’s Schneidwallgasse.
1863 Hector took over the management of chemical laboratory in Schneidwallgasse.
1868 Hector and Heinrich opened the Frankfurt Edelmetall-Scheideanstalt as a private company.
1873 Hector and Heinrich Roessler converted their company into a joint stock company. 
1875 The foreign base for the Deutsche Gold- und Silber-Scheideanstalt was set up in Austria.
1880 Heinrich Roessler developed a process to manufacture heat-resistant gold foil for decorating glass, porcelain, and ceramics.
1882 Franz Roessler started the production of Frankfurt gold foil in the U.S.
1890 Following the company move from Berlin, Goldschmidt's new factory went into operation in Essen.
1898 In partnership with a aluminium company in London, the Deutsche Gold- und Silber-Scheideanstalt has founded the Electro-Chemische Fabrik Natrium GmbH in Frankfurt am Main.
1904 Goldschmidt founded two subsidiaries: Goldschmidt Thermit Co. and Thermit Ltd. for the international penetration of the thermit-proces.
1908 Chemische Fabrik Th. Goldschmidt founded the Goldschmidt Detinning Co. in Chrome, New York.
1910 Chemische Fabrik Weissenstein Ges.m.b.H. was founded.
1915 Reich Treasury has commissioned the Bayerische Stickstoffwerke AG to construct two more production plants in Piesteritz and Chorzow.
1919 Th. Goldschmidt AG partnered with Accumulatorenfabrik Hagen to found the Elektro Thermit GmbH in Berlin-Tempelhof to integrate the welding processes developed by both companies.
1926 Th. Goldschmidt AG has started the manufacturing of fine-grained lead oxides as an additives for rust-proofing painting.
1942 Röhm & Haas GmbH has purchased a site of 86,000 square meters and started the construction of a raw material plant to manufacture the initial products required for PLEXIGLAS production at the Darmstadt works.
1964 Degussa unveiled its methyl methacrylate (MMA) manufacturing plant at Wesseling works.
1966 Along with Mitsubishi Metal Corporation, Degussa has established Nippon Aerosil Co. Ltd. to manufacture and market AEROSIL in Tokyo, Japan.
1967 Röhm & Haas GmbH started the construction work of its new plant to manufacture PLEXIGLAS in Weiterstadt. 
1973 Degussa has started the construction work of chemical workshop in the Gulf of Mexico.
1988 Hüls AG acquired Dynamit Nobel AG, a chemicals and polymers division of Troisdorf.
1992 Degussa partnered with Biotika AG and formed Fermas s.r.o. to commercially develop animal food additives in Slovenská Lupca.
1999 Degussa AG merged with Hüls AG to form Degussa-Hüls AG and based in Frankfurt am Main.
2001 Degussa-Hüls AG merged with SKW Trostberg AG to form Degussa AG, while creating the third-largest chemical company in Germany.
2004 Degussa AG opened a research and development center in Shanghai.
2005 Degussa AG partnered with Northern Chinese Jilin University to found JIDA Degussa High Performance Polymers Changchun Co. Ltd..
2008 Evonik Industries has introduced a new Aerosil product line globally.
2009 Evonik Industries unveiled its new facility center for the production of sodium methylate in Mobile, Alabama.
2010 Evonik Industries launched Plexiglas Soundstop XT Bird Guard, a new product line of transparent sound insulation panels.
2011 Evonik Industries has officially opened their new titanium dioxide plant at Rheinfelden.
2012 Evonik Industries AG made a joint venture with Ampaglas Plastics Group.
2013 Evonik Vietnam Limited Liability Co. has been established with headquarters located in Vietnam. 
2014 Evonik Industries AG sold out its global skin care business for professional users.
2015 Evonik Industries AG inaugurated the oil additives plant on Jurong Island in Singapore.
2016 Evonik Industries AG inaugurates its new ROHACELL plant in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP).
2017 Evonik Industries AG founded Evonik Digital GmbH, a subsidiary based in Essen.
2018 Evonik Industries AG collaborated with DSM to develop omega-3 fatty acids from natural seaweed. 
2019 Evonik Industries AG has officially started its second manufacturing plant for the production of MetAMINO (DL-methionine) in Singapore.
