1998	Christophe Schilling founded Geno together with bioengineering professor Bernhard Palsson, while finishing his Ph.D.
2008	Produced Geno’s first bio-based chemical 1,4-butanediol (BDO).
2016	Novamont opens world’s first bio-based plant for a major intermediate chemical using Geno BDO technology.
2017	Announce the Geno BG (butylene glycol for the beauty industry) process.
2019	Begin commercial-scale shipments of Brontide for natural cosmetic products and partnered with Covestro to develop high-performance materials from plants.
2020	Announced a demonstration-scale facility for plant-based nylon-6 with Aquafil.
2021	Second commercial plant using Geno process. Geno BDO technology licensed to Qore® to produce 1,4-butanediol (BDO) under its brand QIRA and lululemon makes its first-ever sustainable materials investment, accelerating its goal to transform its largest material by volume, nylon.
2022	Launched Avela and announced a venture to scale palm oil alternatives with Unilever and KAO.
