1910 The Tobata Foundry Co. was Established to manufacture malleables in Japan. Later, fittings, small-scale pig iron rolls, and cast steel product manufacturing facilities were added.
1917 Established Teikoku Foundry Co. to initiate the production of a variety of rolls in Japan. Later, it was acquired by Tobata Foundry Co. in 1926.
1922 Kizugawa Manufacturing was established as a plant specializing in fittings. Later, it was acquired by Tobata Foundry Co. in 1926.
1929 Established The Tokyo Manufacturing Plant of the Tobata Foundry Co. to manufacture malleables for use in the automobile industry.
1934 Yasugi Steel Manufacturing is merged with Tobata Foundry Co. Yasugi Steel Manufacturing was created as the result of the Unpaku-Steel Limited partnership in 1899 and purchased by Tobata Foundry Co. as a subsidiary in 1925.
1935 The name of the Tobata Foundry Co. changed to Kokusan Industries, Ltd.
1937 Hitachi Ltd. Acquired the Kokusan Industries Ltd.
1956 Established Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. Where Hitachi Ltd. transferred its metals business and five plants, Tobata, Fukagawa, Kuwana, Wakamatsu, and Yasugi, to Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd, and business activities began.
1965 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. Established its first subsidiary, Hitachi Metals America Ltd, in the U.S.
1970 Hitachi Metals Europe GmbH was established in Germany.
1979 Hitachi Metals Singapore Pte. Ltd. was established in Singapore.
1995 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. Merged with Hitachi Ferrite Co. Ltd.
2003 The company purchased the Amorphous Metals Business Division of Honeywell International Inc.
2003 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. transferred Hitachi Metals' water treatment business to Hitachi Plant Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd.
2004 NEOMAX Co. Ltd. became a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Metals.
2013 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. merged with Hitachi Cable Ltd., and Cable Materials Company was established.
2014 Acquisition of Shares of MMC Superalloy Corporation. Hitachi Metals MMC Superalloy Ltd. became a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Metals.
2014 Waupaca Foundry Inc. became a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd.
2015 Hitachi Metals Korea Co. Ltd. is established.
2015 Established Diehl Tool Steel Inc., a wholly owned tool steel distribution subsidiary in the U.S.
2016 Acquisition of shares in U.S. medical equipment components companies, HTP-Meds, LLC and Hi-Tech Machine and Fabrication, LLC.
2016 Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets manufacturer Hitachi Metals San Huan Magnetic Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd. is established in China.
2017 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. Established Global Research & Innovative Technology Center.
2019 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. Reforms the four internal companies into two business divisions.
2023 Hitachi Metals Industries Ltd. changed its name to Proterial Ltd.
