1976 The company launched its first Korean passenger car, Hyundai Pony.
1986 The company launched GRANDEUR (AZERA), a large-sized luxury car.
1990 The company launched ELANTRA and SCOUPE.
1992 The company launched HCD-I, one of the first concept car in Korea.
1994 The company's annual production surpasses 1 million units.
1997 The company opened its Asan and Turkey plants.
1999 The company developed first automotive fuel cell battery in Korea.
2000 The company developed Korea’s first passenger diesel engine and large commercial engine.

2001 Establishement of Hyundai European Design Center.
  The company launched TUSCANI (sports coupe), TERRACAN, and LAVITA.
