Company Overview

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and cellulose-based films are two families of specialty materials produced by Innovia Films Ltd. and sold into the packaging, labeling, tobacco overwrap, and securities sectors.

Globally, converters, brand owners, and end users can purchase Innovia’s films. For a range of common consumer goods, they become a component of the packaging, labeling, or overwrap solutions for some of the most recognizable brands in the world. These include candy, cologne, cheese, biscuits, tea bags, shampoo, cigarettes, and beer.

Innovia Films operates a global network of sales offices, agents, and distributors in addition to having production facilities in the U.K., U.S., Belgium, and Australia.

The following brands are offered by the company:

  • Flexible cellulose film made from renewable wood pulp is called Cellophane (Brand and company sold to Futamura). It is used extensively, especially in packaging – confectionery (twist wrap), bakery, yeast, and cheese wrap as well as box overwrap.
  • Flexible cellulose film created from renewable wood pulp and taking the Cellophane concept to the next level by being entirely renewable and certified compostable by various industry requirements is called NatureFlex (Brand and Business sold to Futamura). Additionally, this range provides a variety of end-of-life alternatives.
  • Propafilm: For use in packaging and overwrapping, a variety of coated and uncoated high-performance BOPP flexible films are available. They are widely used for fresh produce, convenience “food on the go” applications, biscuit and bakery overwrap, produce packing, and high-speed flow-wrapping. Along with tobacco, cosmetics, medications, candies, cut paper, and optical media box wrapping.
  • Rayoface: In the pressure-sensitive industry, these films were the first BOPP filmless substrates utilized, and after 20 years, they are still considered to be leaders. To take advantage of the marketing advantages provided by the no-label look, significant portions of the industry have shifted from paper to BOPP.
  • Rayofoil: This metalized BOPP facestock film is ready to use and has a high mirror surface that can be utilized to indicate a high-end product with improved shelf appeal.
  • Rayoweb: These high-strength, snap-resistant BOPP films are used in release liner applications. These films are suited for siliconization due to their smooth surface and lack of migratory additives, which also allows for flat, level adhesive lay down for the no-label look.
  • RayoForm: These BOPP films are a brand-new addition to the collection created especially for the in-mold labeling market. They have special advantages throughout the conversion process because of their balanced biaxial and strong machine direction rigidity.
