1905 KOBE STEEL LTD. was established and started the steel casting and forging business.
1955 The company first started industrial production of titanium metal in Japan.
1975 The company introduces an automated guideway transit (AGT) system.
1979 The company introduced its first oil-pressure-driven arc welding robot, "ARCMAN".
1983 KOBE STEEL acquired Midrex Technologies, Inc., a U.S.-based direct reduction technology provider, to enhance its iron reduction plant business.
1990 The company established a manufacturing and sales base for automotive hot-dip galvanized steel sheets in the U.S.
2006 The company started operating an aluminum forging plant for automotive suspension products in the U.S.
2014 The company established a manufacturing and sales base for China's automotive cold-rolled, high-tensile strength steel.
2017 KOBE STEEL acquired Quintus Technologies to broaden its lineup of IP products and enter new growth markets.
2018 KOBE STEEL established the production and sales base (KPEX)  for aluminum extrusions and fabricated products in the U.S.
2021 Kobelco Eco-Solutions Co. Ltd. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of KOBE STEEL LTD.
