1988 Kern & Co. AG is acquired by the WILD-Leitz Group.
1990 WILD-Leitz merged with Cambridge Instruments to become the Leica Group.
1997 Leica Group split into Leica Microsystems and Leica Geosystems.
2005 The company acquired by Hexagon AB.
2013 The company unveiled Leica Pegasus, its first vehicle-agnostic mobile mapping solution.
2016 The company launched Leica BLK360, a highly advanced single-button imaging scanner under the BLK product series.
