1989 Founded by Joe Kiani in 1989 as a private "garage start-up," Masimo is today a publicly traded global medical technology company that develops and produces an array of industry-leading monitoring technologies, including innovative measurements, sensors, and patient monitors.
2014 Masimo launched the rainbow DCI-mini, a noninvasive hemoglobin (SpHb) spot-check sensor for infants and small children (weight 3 to 30 kg).
2015 The company partnered with St. Joseph Hoag Health to open a wellness center for employees inside its headquarters. The center will serve Irvine employees. The walk-in facility offers integrated wellness and medical services, ranging from health coaching, education, and screenings to on-site lab draws and flu shots.
2016 The company signed a four-year partnership with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) to implement programs and training designed to improve anesthesia care and safe surgery outcomes.
2016 The company partners with Smile Train to help ensure the safety of patients undergoing cleft lip and palate surgery in low-resource settings worldwide.
2017 Midmark partnered with Masimo to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the acquisition of vital signs in the clinical space.
2019 The company launched Doctella, a home-based patient engagement and remote care automation platform. Doctella facilitates pre- and post-hospital care at home with customizable, interactive care programs that utilize patient-reported and physiological data.
2020 The company acquired Connected Care assets from NantHealth, Inc. for a $47.25 million upfront payment. NantHealth's Connected Care solutions provide medical device interoperability to hospitals and health systems. 
2021 The company launched a single-patient-use adhesive rainbow SuperSensor. It allows clinicians to assess the patient’s status continuously by noninvasively and continuously monitoring many different physiologic indicators simultaneously.
2022 Masimo acquired Sound United, a consumer technology company with multiple premium audio and home entertainment brands. Sound United operates as a division of Masimo from its headquarters in Carlsbad, California. 
2023 The company expanded its partnership with Royal Philips to augment patient monitoring capabilities in home telehealth applications with the Masimo W1 advanced health tracking watch.
2023 Masimo and Temple Health collaborated, focusing on hospital automation and telehealth initiatives, to further the organizations’ mutual goals of improving health, increasing care value, and transforming care delivery models.
2023 GE Healthcare and Masimo collaborated to bring Masimo SET pulse oximetry to the wireless and wearable GE HealthCare portrait mobile platform.
2024 Masimo and Cleveland Clinic collaborated on hospital-based remote patient monitoring (RPM), including telecritical care. This included integrating Cleveland Clinic’s critical care (eHospital) and non-critical care (eCMU) central patient monitoring platforms with the Masimo Hospital Automation platform.
2024 Masimo partnered with Google to develop a reference platform that helps device manufacturers bring high-performing Wear OS Smartwatches to the market.
2024 Masimo partners with Qualcomm Technologies to develop a next-generation smartwatch reference platform for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) building Wear OS by Google smartwatches.
