1954	Mitsubishi Shoji was established in July 1954 and listed on both the Tokyo and Osaka stock exchanges. Later, in 1971, it was renamed Mitsubishi Corporation.
2011	The company acquired the Senoro-Toili natural gas field in Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, from PT for $260 million. Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.
2011	Mitsubishi Corp. partnered with The Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. to manage Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO), one of the Independent Power Producer (IPP) holding companies in Thailand, to promote the further development of Thailand’s electricity sector.
2011	The company collaborated with Korea Gas Corporation, headquartered in Seongnam City, South Korea, for natural gas businesses, mainly for liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.

2020	Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. collaborated to acquire the Dutch energy supply company "Eneco."
2021	The company joint ventured with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) to establish Industry One, Inc., which provides cross-industry Digital Transformation (DX) services to promote digitalization and structural transformations.

2023	Mitsubishi Corporation established a new company, Eneco Diamond Hydrogen B.V., to develop green hydrogen and associated renewable energy in Europe.
