1898 Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist in New Bern, North Carolina, created and sold the drink from his drugstore soda fountain under the name "Brad's Drink." After buying it from a local competitor, he later changed the name to Pepsi-Cola.
1965 The company merged with Frito-Lay, forming PepsiCo, Inc. The merger was driven by the potential for Frito-Lay snacks to be distributed outside of the United States and Canada and for PepsiCo to market Frito-Lay snacks alongside its soft drinks.
2020 Vail Resorts and PepsiCo expanded their partnership to advance sustainability goals. The companies focused on waste reduction, including reducing beverage and food packaging waste and replacing wax-lined paper cups with compostable or durable PepsiCo products.
