1947 Frank C. Sullivan founded Republic Powdered Metals.
1963 RPM sold 25,000 shares to the public in an intrastate offering in Ohio, U.S.
1966 RPM acquired the Reardon Company of St. Louis for $2.3 million. The company was known to be the first to develop cement-based paintings and coatings.
1971 RPM was listed on the NASDAQ.
1963 The company established Siporex Manufacturing Co. Ltd. 
1984 RPM acquired Euclid Chemical Company, a company specializing in manufacturing concrete additives, masonry, grouting, and other waterproofing materials.
1985 RPM acquired industrial corrosion control coatings manufacturer Carboline Company.
1995 RPM sales surpass $1 billion with a 25% increase in YoY.
1998 The company switched from trading on NASDAQ to the New York Stock Exchange.
