The company has more than 160 years of material experience, including around 45 years in atomized metal powder. It has around 12 towers for powder atomization. The company operates four business divisions: Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions, Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions, and Sandvik Material Technology. Metal powders lie in the Sandvik Material Technology division. Sandvik supplies gas atomized metal powder under the Osprey brand, and Osprey brand powder can be used in various processes such as metal injection molding, additive manufacturing, cold spray, filters and foam, micro-MIM, and other customized processes. The company produces a variety of metal powders/alloys, including low alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, duplex and super duplex stainless steels, high-temperature materials, nickel-based superalloys, cobalt alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys, low expansion alloys, and soft magnetic alloys. The company offers MIM and additive manufacturing metal powders to various end-use industries such as aerospace, medical, nuclear, chemical, automotive, oil and gas, and others.
