Silicon Sensing Systems is a joint venture of BAE Systems and Sumitomo Precision Products. Silicon Sensing Systems develops and manufactures gyroscopic MEMS, based on its Gyring technology, which is used in the Segway personal transportation device and Johnson & Johnson’s now discontinued iBot wheelchair. The company’s products include gyroscopes, accelerometers and inertial systems. It has applications in aviation, platform stabilization, surveying and mapping, downhill drilling, precision agriculture, industrial and robotics, and navigation.
