1941 Dr. Stryker creates The Orthopedic Frame Company.
1946 Dr. Stryker incorporates The Orthopedic Frame Company.
1947 Doctor Stryker patented an oscillating saw to simplify the task of cast removal.
1955 Dr. Stryker’s son, Lee, becomes the General Manager of the Company.
1964 Dr. Stryker retired from his medical practice, and the company changed its name to Stryker Corporation.
1969 Lee Stryker became the President.
1977 John Brown became President and Chief Executive Officer of Stryker Corporation.
1979 Stryker acquired Osteonics Corp. and entered the orthopedic implant market.
1980 Dr. Stryker dies at age 85 and John Brown becomes Stryker’s Chairman.
1981 The purchase of SynOptics provides expansion into the endoscopy business.
1992 The company acquired Dimso, SA, which opened opportunities in the spinal fixation field.
1994 Company introduced  RUGGED ambulance cots to expand into emergency medical services.
1996 The company acquired Osteo SA and entered into the orthopaedic trauma market.
1997 The company got listed on the New York Stock Exchange after 18 years on NASDAQ.
1998 The company acquired Howmedica, a major player in the worldwide orthopedic market.
2000 The company entered the surgical navigation market.
2005 Stephen MacMillan becomes President and Chief Executive Officer and John Brown takes the role of Chairman of the Board.
2009 The company  acquired Ascent Healthcare Solutions, Inc.
2010 John Brown retired as Chairman and Stephen MacMillan becomes Stryker’s third Chairman of the Board.
2011 The company acquired Boston Scientific’s Neurovascular division.
2012 Kevin Lobo becomes President and Chief Executive Officer.
2013 The company acquired Trauson Holdings Company Limited.
2013 The acquisition of MAKO Surgical Corp.
2017 The company launched Mako Total Knee, combined Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology with the Triathlon Total Knee System.
