1918 Teijin Ltd. was founded under the name Teikoku Jinzo-Kenshi Kaisha, Ltd.
1927 Initiated operations at the Iwakuni Factory, beginning production of rayon filament.
1952 Teijin Ltd. Establishment of the Iwakuni Laboratories.
1960 Creation of the Tokyo Research Laboratories.
1963 Establishment of the Chemicals & Plastics Institute.
1964 Formation of the Fiber and Textile Research Laboratories.
1972 The inception of the Fuji Institute of Education and Training.
1973 Joint establishment of Teijin Fher Medical Co. Ltd., with Germany's Boehringer Ingelheim.
1974 Launch of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Division.
1983 The company was established as Teijin Systems Technology Ltd.
1992 Teijin Ltd. Established of the Teijin Biomedical Laboratory in London.
1999 Acquisition of an equity stake in Toho Rayon Co. Ltd., later renamed Toho Tenax Co. Ltd.
2001 Acquisition of the Twaron para-aramid business from Acordis B.V. of the Netherlands.
