1923 Christian Trumpf along with his two partners acquires the mechanical workshops of Julius Geiger GmbH in Stuttgart and started producing flexible shaftsfor dental and printing requirements. 
1934 The company launched the first motor-driven hand shears (HSP 201) for cutting sheet metal. 
1937 The company is renamed from Julius Geiger GmbH to TRUMPF & Co.
1939 TRUMPF started producing foot pumps for aircraft construction as a sub-supplier to Elektron-Co. GmbH in Bad Cannstatt, Germany. 
1947 The company has started a new subsidiary called TRUMPF Aushauschere TAS to build stationary curve shears.
1955 TRUMPF opened a plant in Hettingen in the Swabian Alps; It produces laser processing machines and parts/assemblies for laser processing machines.
1963 The company's first foreign subsidiary was founded in Zug, Switzerland.
1969 The company also established its subsidiary in Farmington, CT, U.S.
1971 TRUMPF  established a development department for solid-state lasers
1972 The company has relocated its headquarters to Ditzingen.
1977 The company has founded its subsidiary in Yokohama, Japan.
1979 TRUMPF enters the world of laser technology. The company presents the first TRUMATIC 180 LASERPRESS combination punch laser machine. The beam sources are CO2 lasers from the U.S. with a power of 500 and 700 W.
1980 The company presents the TRUMATIC Plasmapress 300 plasma cutting machine for the first time at the International Machine Tool Show in Chicago.
1990 TRUMPF acquired a majority share of HUTTINGER. Since then, HUTTINGER has been a member of the TRUMPF Group, which has developed laser generators. 
1991 Acquisition of a new plant in Linz, Austria, Foundation of TRUMPF Singapore.
1996 The company has expanded its business areas, such as medical technology.
2001 TRUMPF achieves new cutting speeds, and the TRUMATIC L 3050 laser cutting machine achieves top cutting speeds, even in thick sheets.
2008 Launched The new generation of the tried-and-tested TruLaser 3030 and TruLaser 3040 laser processing machines combines innovative technology and high laser power with a new design and optimized operation. 
2009 Opening of the R&D Center for machine tools, as well as the Laser Technology Center in Ditzingen.
2024 TRUMPF and SiMa.ai, the embedded edge machine learning system-on-chip company, signed a partnership to develop lasers with artificial intelligence (A.I.).
