1916 The company developed its first products acetylaldehyde and acetic acid.
1917 The company started the production of acetone from acetic acid in Burghausen during the First World War.
1918-1922 Alzwerke GmbH was founded. Construction and Commissioning of the Alz Canal.
1922 Production of intermediate and end products from Acetic Acid.
1930 The company started the production of VINNAPAS.
1939 The Outbreak of World War II.
1947 Research Work into Silanes and Silicones Begins.
1953 First Production of Hyperpure Silicon rods.
1957 New facilities and buildings were erected which comprises a 19-meter-high crude silane column and tank farm for pure and intermediate products in Burghausen.
1960 The company has started the production of acetylaldehyde in its new site.
1965 The company launched hyperpure silicon rods in the North American market.
1968 The company has opened up its new ethylene-based vinyl acetate monomer plant.
1968/1969 Founded Wacker Chemitronic Gesellschaft für Elektronik-Grundstoffe mbH.

1987 DRAWIN Vertriebs-GmbH was founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wacker Chemie AG.

2008 The company manufactured silicone wafers in Singapore.
2009 The company has commissioned a dispersible polymer powders plant in Nanjing.
2010 WACKER Chemie AG and Dow Corning collaborated to launch a largest silicones production site in Zhangjiagang, China.
