Andritz was founded in 1852 as an international technology group providing plants, systems, equipment and services for various industries. It has an employee strength of more than 30,000 and is in more than 280 locations in over 40 countries. The company also provides power generation components and devices such as steam boiler plants, biomass power plants, recovery boilers and gasification plants and environmental technology such as flue gas and exhaust gas cleaning plants. It offers equipment to produce nonwovens, dissolving pulp, panelboard and recycling plants.

Andritz provides its product offerings through four business segments: pulp & paper, metals, hydro, and separation. It offers various products such as boilers, drum filters, magnetic separators, industrial waste compactors, shredders, thickeners, welding systems, pumps, decanter centrifuges, mechanical separation extractors, contact and paddle dryers, batch helix dryers, animal feed and biomass pelleting, as well as automation. The company offers a wide range of innovative products and services in the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) sector under the brand name of Metris.

The company has a strong global presence in Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, the U.S. and other countries. It has subsidiaries such as Andritz Oy, Andritz Slovakia S.R.O., Andritz Kaiser GmbH, Andritz Separation Ltd, Andritz (U.S.) Inc., Andritz Ritz GmbH, Andritz Feed & Biofuel A/S, Andritz Ab. currently, the Andritz Group has approximately 6,000 patents and patent applications. Two-thirds of them have already been granted, while the remainder are under examination. In addition, the Group owns the rights some 2,000 filed or registered trademarks.
