Company Overview

ELITech Group is a privately-held group of global manufacturers and distributors of in vitro diagnostic equipment and reagents. The ELITech Group manufactures and distributes diagnostic products for clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology and molecular biology through direct sales and a distribution network of more than 100 countries.

Through a series of acquisitions, including Nanogen, ELITech has created a group of IVD specialty companies that offer innovative products and solutions. The ELITech Group is a contributor in advancing clinical diagnostics to laboratories operating in proximity to the patient.

Nanogen Inc. was a diagnostic company that focused on infectious disease and cardiac testing participating in two markets: the molecular diagnostics market, where it offered assays for real-time PCR applications; and the POC testing market where it offered rapid immunoassay tests for cardiac emergency care. In POC, the diagnostic may be performed in near-patient settings, such as an emergency room or a doctor’s office.

In May 2009, Nanogen filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of Title 11 of the U.S. Code in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. In July 2009, the company and its subsidiaries, Epoch BioSciences Inc. and Nanotronics Inc., completed their sale of substantially all of their assets to Financière Elitech SAS (Elitech) and its designee DxCon Inc.

ELITech Molecular Diagnostics is recognized for its industry-leading PCR technologies, including minor groove binder (MGB). Its products deliver superior sensitivity and specificity, enabling more accurate diagnoses for the treatment and monitoring of organ transplants, opportunistic infections, infectious diseases, HAIs, cancer and human genetics.
