1990 Heidelberg Engineering was founded and collaborated with scientists, clinicians, and industry to develop better products that deliver clinically relevant benefits. 
1991 The company introduced its first commercial compact cSLO to measure ONH with automatic image alignment to correct eye motion (HRT).
2004 The company introduced its first commercial multi-modal cSLO with real-time image averaging, noise reduction, image composites, AF, and simultaneous FA / ICGA video (HRA2).
2008 Heidelberg introduced its prototype for ex vivo two-photon fluorescence imaging of the human eye, Slit-Lamp OCT, which integrates multiple new imaging techniques and allows the specialists at RMI to provide the most advanced care.
2015 The company has been granted the patent for using phase plates for aberration-reduced imaging.
