1998 MicroPort was founded in 1998 in a small office in ZJ Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai.
2003 The company entered the Japanese market with PTCA Balloon dilatation catheters.
2008 The company established Shanghai MicroPort Lifesciences Co., Ltd. and officially entered the diabetes business.
2009 The company established Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary at the Shanghai International Medical Zone headquartered in Suzhou.
2011 Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, acquired Suzhou Best Co., Ltd., a domestic manufacturer and marketer of orthopedic implants and related medical instruments.
2012 MicroPort Shanghai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MicroPort Scientific Corp., acquired a 100% equity interest in Dongguan Kewei Medical Instrument Co. Ltd. This acquisition officially enters MicroPort Shanghai into the field of cardiac surgery.
2014 MicroPort Scientific Corp. and Sorin Group have collaborated to make a definitive agreement to form a joint venture to market and develop cardiac rhythm management (CRM) devices in China.
2014 The company acquired drug-eluting stent-related assets and intellectual properties from Cordis, which include formal Conor Medsystems, NEVO DES-related patents, and  other intellectual property.
2017 The company established MicroPort Urocare Co., Ltd., marking its official entry into the urology and gynecology sectors.
2018 The company acquired the cardiac rhythm management business of LivaNova for $190 million in cash.
2020 MicroImaging Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., a MicroPort and Siemens Healthineers subsidiary, jointly signed an agreement to develop Chinese-made digital subtraction angiography systems (DSAs).
2020 MicroPort Scientific Corp. invested in Purple Medical Solutions Private Ltd. and established a joint venture company, Purple MicroPort Cardiovascular, in March 2020.
