1966	MTS Systems was founded.
1968	MTS Systems installed its first earthquake simulator, which paved the way for research on designing earthquake-resistant bridges, buildings, and infrastructure.
1972	MTS Systems expanded its European business by establishing a West Berlin manufacturing, sales, and services office.
1993	MTS Systems expanded its biomedical testing capabilities by introducing orthopedic test systems.
2008	MTS Systems acquired the SANS Group, headquartered in Shenzhen, China.
2018	MTS Systems acquired E2M Technologies and expanded its technology offerings with electric actuation and simulation capabilities.
2020	MTS Systems acquired R&D Test Systems and strengthened its presence in wind energy and aerospace.
2021	Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a global leader in multi-industrial manufacturing, acquired the MTS Test & Simulation business from Amphenol Corp.
